Ogre is a turn-based strategy game played on hexagonal field. It's an PC adaptation of a board war-game with the same title, created by Steve Jackson (first released in 1977). Your main task is to defeat OGRE - heavy armoured tank. Before the battle you will have to arrange your units - choose the number of infantry and heavy troops, and then deploy them somewhere on the map. There's just one ogre to defeat, but don't let that fool you. It's a really tough bastard and it might be quite hard to destroy him without using some clever tactics. I have to admit that I enjoyed that game a lot, and I still do. Even that there's almost no music at all and the graphics is rather poor, the simplicity of OGRE gameplay (after all, it's a PC conversion of a board game) perfectly fills that hole and even leaves something outside. If you like turn based strategy games, don't wait and download OGRE - you won't be dissapointed!
