Thank You for creating an account on GameGraveyard.net. We are very glad you joined us. As you are about to find out, that's probably one of the best decisions in your life! Not only because you have an account on one of the coolest places in the whole internet, but also because now you are a part of our great mission of resurrecting and bringing back to life all these classic old games & abandonware!
After you log in, the first change you should notice will be apperance of Crypt Panel instead of Login Window. There you can see your avatar (it's that big question mark, but don't worry, you can change it), account name, your title and amount of gold coins and experience points (it might sound a bit scary, but everything will be explained in further chapters of our handbook). That's the most important part of the Crypt Panel, and it will always be there. Rest of the panel is set to show thumbnail of Your Crypt, your collection of Trophies & Achievements and Quick Menu by default, however, it's fully editable - it's up to you what do you want to see there (check out Crypt Configuration).
To see full characteristics of your account, go to [ Crypt ] >> [ Your Crypt ]. At the top of that page you will see something similar to Crypt Panel. It will be your avatar, right next to it your account name (orange color), official title (sometimes it might be a bit longer than the one displayed on Crypt Panel), amount of Gold Coins that you can use to buy new stuff and furniture for your crypt, experience points and your GameGraveyard League position.
Just below that section you can see Latest News for the crypt owners. They are different from Hot-like-hell News from main page, and usually related to something important, so you should always check them out after you log in.
Later on, you can see how Your Crypt actually looks like. Right next to it you will find your crypt level (the higher level, the more extra experience points you get in GameGraveyard League). To increase that level, you will have to buy new items to furniture your crypt (besides, who would like to live in an empty crypt?). Information on how many items you need to level up is always just below the crypt level. It's also a good place to find out how many items you have already purchased.
Next section shows your collection of Trophies & Achievements, with full description of why did you actually got them. To get more information, visit Trophies & Achievements chapter.
To see your personal statistics, like number of comments or reviews that you have posted, check out the very bottom of Your Crypt page named Your Statistics.
As the name suggests, this number shows how experienced you are as a crypt owner. It is very important, because it determines your title and your position in GameGraveyard League. You can get experience points for all sort of activities on the website: from small things, like posting comments and rating games (however you can't expect a big reward for that) to real deals like sending review or article (in this case, size of reward vary on quality of your work). Solving quests and riddles from our Quest Master also seems like a very good idea to become more experienced and make some gold coins.
Sometimes, if you get the attention of our moderators, for example because of usefulness of your comment, you can be extra rewarded. But of course it works in two ways, if you curse or post offensive comments / posts, our moderators can decide to remove some experience points from your account.
Earn gold coins by writing reviews, solutions, articles or solving quests. Then you can spend them in Crypt Shop to make your crypt a nicer place!
Your official title, under which you are being recognized by other crypt owners. You start your adventure as a Fresh Corpse, but don't worry, it will change along with time and your experience. There are also some special Titles, but they are reserved only for the strongest, richest and most experienced users. But who knows, maybe one day it will be you who will become a Great Necromancer, or maybe even the Emperor of the Undeground!
Click on [ Crypt ] >> [ Quest ] to visit our Quest Master. He or she will usually have some little job to do for you. That might be anything, but in most cases it's a question related to old games & abandonware. To answer his or her question, type in the answer in the text field and press 'Answer the Question' button. If you succeed, you can expect a reward - that's usually few gold coins and some experience points. If you have a problem with finishing the quest, try to press 'Answer the Question' button with empty text field above - in some cases Quest Master may be mercyful and give you a hint. Oh, and there's one more thing. If you will go to visit Quest Master and he will not even open the doors for you, don't worry and come back later - he's probably just playing some classic game and don't want to be disturbed. Or maybe you were so good that he must come up with new, more difficult questions?
Your collection of trophies & achievements is the best proof of your knowledge, experience and commitment to resurrecting old games & abandonware. You can see it on Your Crypt page. Although we do not provide the full list of trophies that you could get, the rumor has it that there's quite a big number of them. Solve quests, rate games, post comments, write reviews, articles, solutions - in other words, be active, and we're sure that your trophies collection will quickly get big and impressive!
GameGraveyard Underground League is an official competition of crypt owners. Your position in the league is based on amount of your experience points. Person who is on the third place receives the title of Underground Archduke. Second place is reserved for Great Necromancer, and the first one is only for someone experienced and rich enough to bear the title of Current Emperor of the Undeground.
Best place to get a furniture for your crypt! Unfortunatelly, it's closed at the moment. Don't be worried, it will soon be open!
[ Crypt ] >> [ Options ] is the best place to change your crypt configuration. At this moment the only thing that you can do here is changing your password, but other options are under construction and should be available soon!
